Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare molds/forms for concrete pours, including cleaning, assembling, oiling, and setting up reinforcement (rebar, mesh, embeds, lifting devices).
- Assist in concrete placement, including vibrating, leveling, screeding, and finishing precast products.
- Strip and clean forms after curing; inspect molds for damage and report maintenance needs.
- Operate hand and power tools, such as grinders, drills, saws, trowels, and concrete vibrators.
- Maintain quality control by checking dimensions, alignment, surface finish, and embed placement according to drawings and specifications.
- Load and unload precast components using cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment (under supervision or per certification).
- Read and follow production drawings, work orders, and safety procedures.
- Perform general labor tasks, including housekeeping, material handling, and assisting other crew members.
- Adhere to safety standards, including PPE use, lockout/tagout protocols, and safe lifting practices.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
- Basic knowledge of concrete, construction practices, or manufacturing processes (preferred).
- Experience with hand/power tools; ability to learn new equipment.
- Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and simple construction diagrams.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions if products are produced outdoors.
Typical Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- Previous construction or concrete experience is a plus but not always required.
- Ability to pass drug screening and meet company safety requirements.
- Certifications in forklift or crane operation (optional but beneficial).
