QC Technician

Location: Amarillo, TX

This position is responsible for ensuring that strict quality control standards in asphalt and aggregates are met according to contract requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets contract requirements for aggregate specifications. 
• Safely collects samples and performs tests on material to ensure that all specifications are met. 
• Familiar with and able to use all equipment in a quarry lab. 
• Ensures that all environmental standards are met.
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities 
• Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines 
• Ability to operate lab equipment and PC workstation. 
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. 
• Willing to Travel  
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals 

 Education and/or Experience 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
• At least 2 years experience in a Hot Mix Asphalt or Quarry Lab environment. 
• Level 1B Certification is strongly preferred, but not required.
