Aggregates Plant Manager

Overview

The Aggregates Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of one or more aggregate production facilities, including crushing, screening, washing, and loadout. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance. The Plant Manager will lead and develop employees, drive continuous improvement, and manage all aspects of plant performance to meet company goals.

Roles & Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Manage all day-to-day operations of the aggregate plant, including production, maintenance, and quality control.

  • Optimize production output and efficiency while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

  • Monitor material inventories, production reports, and operating costs to ensure budget targets are met or exceeded.

  • Oversee crushing, screening, and wash plant performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or equipment issues.

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a culture of safety by enforcing all company and MSHA/OSHA standards.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits.

  • Ensure all environmental and regulatory permits and reporting requirements are met.

People Management

  • Supervise, train, and mentor plant personnel, fostering teamwork and accountability.

  • Schedule and coordinate daily work assignments for operators, mechanics, and laborers.

  • Lead by example with a focus on communication, employee development, and engagement.

Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement and manage a preventative maintenance program to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.

  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and long-term capital improvements.

  • Identify and execute process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.

Financial & Administrative

  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting for labor, materials, and equipment.

  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely procurement of parts and supplies.

  • Track and report production metrics, downtime, and maintenance activity.
