Location:  Davenport, IA

Compensation:  $92,365 to $114,098/annually depending on experience

 


The prime objective of the Associate Production Manager is to effectively coordinate the daily operation of the production department ensuring all environmental, safety, quality, budget, and production targets are being met.  Also, achieve maximum optimization daily.  Supports a good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.
 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Directly coordinates the activities of all production systems at the Green America Recycling plant including alternate fuels material handling, shredder/conveyer operations, and oil storage.
  • Effectively troubleshoot problems in the department and in cooperation with other departments, ensure that these problems are rectified quickly to minimize downtime, maximize productivity.
  • Work with Maintenance to plan and schedule major and minor outages.
  • Ensure necessary fuel quality, quantity, and consistency to maximize productivity at the lowest cost.
  • Establish necessary shift quality targets, guidelines, best practices and SOP’s which maximize productivity while meeting market requirements.
  • Ensure that tasks are performed in a safe, productive and timely manner, while continuing to improve company and employee relationships within the context of company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety practices and procedures, availability of safety equipment, and provide first aid treatment.
  • Assist the Site Manager in the development and implementation of equipment startup and running checklists, and production operating procedures to include operating parameters and standard operating procedures.
  • Work with other departments, especially the maintenance and process departments, to ensure daily operational problems are corrected in a timely and cooperative manner.
  • Generate required production information including but not limited to: all reliability data, all daily/monthly production data, and production forecasting.
  • Ensure that all production teams have and use proper safety equipment and supplies.

 


Ability, Skills & Knowledge

 

 

  • Manufacturing, Engineering, or closely related degree
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in the industry
  • Strong understanding of alternate fuels, milling systems and kiln operations
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, while building rapport with team members
  • Ability to transfer knowledge in a training environment
  • Must be able to work overtime, all shifts, holidays, and weekends
  • Personality that builds trust with key stakeholders
  • Presentation skills with the ability to effortlessly communicate the leadership message to employees
  • Must have a high level of integrity and commitment to comply with all applicable federal / state / industry compliance, record keeping, regulations and standards.
  • Due to the nature of this position, it is essential that the teammate be available to report to the designated work site / office and be ready to begin work when scheduled,
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screen.
