Overview
Location: Davenport, IA
Compensation: Base salary range depending on experience is 70,000.00 to 86,000.00
Our Maintenance Supervisor plays a vital role within the company and will contribute to the overall success and improved operations within Continental Cement and Green America Recycling. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and technical aptitude, analyzing trends and monitoring equipment conditions to determine the appropriate maintenance interventions, both preventative and reactive. Supporting the reliability of mechanical, electrical, and mobile equipment, this role will increase reliability, performance, and life expectancy, at the lowest overall cost, while working to support and maintain production functions. This position supports a good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- The safety of all crew members.
- Remain active and knowledgeable in current safety regulations and guidelines, promoting overall plant safety.
- Initiating appropriate work orders when warranted.
- Initiate the work directly performed by the execution group and ensure quality and efficient work is performed.
- Ensuing the maintenance shop and vehicles are safe, inspected and clean.
- Perform regular equipment inspections using Advanced Detection Techniques (Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, NDT, Ultra Sonic, and Thermal Imaging).
- Perform follow-up inspections post repair and/or new installations of equipment.
- Along with the Planner and Inspector, the requirement for inspection of off-site rebuilds may be required.
- Provide technical expertise in specific areas of the cement plant, communicating effectively to various levels.
- Interact directly and regularly with production personnel regarding operating procedures that have an impact on equipment.
- Participate in the budgeting process, providing advice in planning and scheduling of major more costly maintenance activities.
- Remain current in concerns to advances in reliability technology and equipment through participation in the Continental network and maintaining relationships with other practitioners and suppliers.
- Utilize to manage activities and the generate maintenance KPI which measure the effectiveness of the maintenance roles.
- When assigning and supervising maintenance and repair tasks, make full use of existing Agreement language within the context of its intent to maximize productivity and reduce department costs.
- Ensuring crew members track and submit hours worked accurately and timely and ensure timecards are approved and tracking follows the plant attendance policy.
- Complying with all company purchasing and requisitioning policies and procedures.
- Planning and scheduling maintenance work and engage with procurement and department team members to ensure all necessary parts, materials, equipment and or services for impending maintenance work are available.
- Covering on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis as scheduled.
- Coordinating and overseeing activities of contractors to ensure reliable completion of their projects on time and on budget.
- Working closely with the Maintenance Planner/Inspector during the development of weekly, monthly and major outage plans
- Meeting plant budgeted clinker, cement and manufacturing targets.
- Meeting or exceeding targeted reliability goals for the major pieces of equipment.
- Managing department overtime to budget.
- Assists in annual plant outage planning.
- Preventative maintenance work planning.
- Participating in Overall Equipment Efficiency review meetings and root cause failure investigation to help determine solutions and improvements to processes, policies, tasks, equipment designs, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screen.

Ability, Skills & Knowledge
- 4 or more years' experience in heavy industrial maintenance or education equivalency
- Mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment within all levels of the facility
