The prime objective of the Plant Terminal Manager is to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Shipping Department, managing truck, rail, and barge distribution and inventory. The Plant Terminal Manager provides leadership for the following functions: Safety, Personnel Management, Customer Service, Professional Development, Maintenance and Billing / Financial Performance.  This position supports a good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintains good communication with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, Supply, and Sales departments.
  • Must be familiar with all shipping functions and capable of operating all critical shipping equipment.
  • Understands the proper operations of all shipping equipment and optimizes the performance of it on an ongoing basis.
  • Control costs, assist in the development of the annual budget, works with finance, purchasing and vendors to meet operational objectives.
  • Assures environmental compliance on all shipping equipment or informs management so the situation can be reported and rectified.
  • Participates in physical inventory of product and materials.
  • Supervises all truck, rail, and barge loading.
  • Represents the company to employees of outside transportation companies and customers. Treats all visitors and customers professionally with a friendly, customer-service oriented attitude.
  • Ensures the plant maintains a clean and presentable shipping facility.
  • Other duties may be required and will be assigned as necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; prefer a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Management/Supervisory experience with an emphasis on safety.
  • Experience with cost control and financial responsibility
  • Must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to function in a fast-paced and evolving business.
  • Strong Interpersonal capabilities with ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, while building rapport with team members across functions/operating units and influencing at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites with accurate data entry skills.
  • Due to the nature of this position, it is essential that the teammate be available to report to the designated work site / office and be ready to begin work when scheduled,

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screen.

Pay range:  $111,925.00
