Roles & Responsibilities

The Production Control Supervisor will supervise the daily activities of the production shift employees ensuring all activities are performed within safety and environmental guidelines.  The Production Control Supervisor will also operate all plant process lines and related auxiliary equipment from a central location ensuring the safety of all employees and integrity of the company assets, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.

 

  • Provide safety leadership for the shift, housekeeping, and operating equipment within environmental guidelines
  • Able and willing to work a rotating 12 hour schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Perform all job functions in a safe manner complying with all Plant, Company, State, Federal and MSHA regulations
  • Provides guidance, coaching, and instruction to shift employees as required. 
  • Troubleshooting problems, making operational decisions, taking corrective actions, and leading the shift in continuous improvement
  • Consistent production of all cement, clinker and raw mix within established quality guidelines ensuring appropriate actions and communication for any deviations
  • Continuously analyze equipment and system performance to ensure optimum reliability, production and product quality
  • Maintain accurate shift log of all activities in PPW including documenting reasons for equipment down time, product quality information, and a general report of the shift’s performance and operational issues
  • Participate in and successfully complete Control Room Operator Certification program
  • Responsible for employee development and training for all employees on their shift
  • Effectively manages employee resources to maintain efficient plant operation, utilizing call-outs and contractors if necessary

Abilities Skills & Knowledge

  • 5 years progressive experience working in a cement plant
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to work effectively following all plant safety policies and safe work practices
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Must be able to operate process computers and software including Kronos, HMI screens, Aspen IP21, Pavillion, and Plant Focus
  • Solid computer skills working with applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and SAP
  • Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Self-starter with sound judgment, positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suites and other defined software to analyze and interpret data to continually improve plant operations.
  • Aility to meet responsibilities associated with a 24/7 plant operation.
