Location: Mount Croghan, SC

Reports To: Plant Manager 

Compensation: $65,000 - $80,000 annual salary range 

 

 Foreman is a full-time, exempt position located in Croghan, South Carolina.  This position is responsible for the efficient and optimum production of the plant, as well as responsible for supervising employees and monitoring their safety and productivity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and noise of operating equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Hard Hat, Reflective Vest, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, Safety Glasses and fall protection as needed.
 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 

PC/Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Windows, Excel, and Word
  • General understanding of how to use Microsoft Outlook/Email

Minimum Requirements: 

  • High School graduate;
  • Preferred – Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;
  • Minimum two years of mining OR leadership experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Ability to successful lead a team of employees;
  • Knowledge of aggregate production and gradations and specifications;
  • Mining and excavating experience required;
  • Must be able to understand MSHA regulations
