Overview
Location: Eagle Lake, TX Duncan Plant | Reports to: Area Operations Manager
The position of Plant Manager will be tasked with directing and managing all plant operations including dredging operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance and quality while maintaining a safety-first attitude. This position requires management resources in adherence with all company standards, policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ etc. This position will need to be able to provide strong leadership, training, team building and supervision with an emphasis on employee development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish a culture that supports safety. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and company regulatory policies and procedures.
- Plan and direct the daily operations including dredging at aggregate plant(s).
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Implements and monitors procedures to maximize plant efficiency while controlling cost of production.
- Able to work with operations to develop forecasts, operating budgets, capital budgets and other financial planning needed to operate business successfully.
- Participate in mine planning and equipment evaluations which include dredging operations.
- Coordinate maintenance projects, service work, and repairs to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of all equipment including dredging equipment so that costs and downtime are minimized, and all equipment is available when needed.
- Must have the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in supervising subordinates. These tasks include but are not limited to: interviewing, delegating responsibilities and tasks, performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplining.
- Ensures utilization of company processes for reporting, monitoring and tracking of production and maintenance activities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or management operations. 2 to 5 years of management experience, as well as familiarity with production, equipment, maintenance or quality control. Proficient knowledge of MSHA safety requirements.
- Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other computer software. Command Alkon, Command Batch, Command Dispatch a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Must be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Consists of both office setting and on-site at plants. Office environment will include suitable work areas and standard office equipment. On site work consists of activities which include navigating heights, machinery and exposure to elements such as dust, changes in temperature and weather. Required safety equipment will be issued and policies and procedures focused on safety will apply.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Must be able to safely maintain 3 points of contact when applicable. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics.
