Overview
Manages the daily operation of batch plants and related facilities, including washout pits, reclaimers, and plant/yard housekeeping. Maintains complete and accurate documentation of records and files. Supervises Mixer Truck Operators, Plant Managers, and Construction Products warehouse/delivery personnel. Assists the Area Manager and Director of Environmental and Safety Operations in maintaining a safe work environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervises the control, maintenance and reporting of all inventories including cement, aggregates, construction products, etc.
- Supervises all maintenance and repairs to plants
- Works with Dispatch to ensure drivers are properly allocated to each plant based on the workload for the day
- Works with the Area Manager and/or Director of Safety Operations to ensure OSHA and company standards are followed at each plant. This includes correcting deficiencies, following established standards, etc.
- Works with the Plant Managers to ensure that trucks assigned to plants are properly maintained, i.e., cleaned, maintained, and inspected pre-trip.
- Works with the Plant Managers to ensure the plants are properly maintained, in good working order, and kept neat in appearance
- Assists in the implementation of any programs, policies, and/or procedures established by the company
- Involved in the hiring and management of employees. This includes communication with the Area Manager and Human Resources Manager and documenting the results
- Works closely with the Area QC Director and/or Regional QC Manager to produce concrete that meets the standards established in the QA/QC Program
- Inspects job sites to verify that the concrete delivered meets quality standards, drivers are properly following procedures in the delivery of concrete, and the customer is satisfied with the result
Experience and Skills Required
- Basic computer skills, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Knowledge of and ability to navigate and make changes in Command Batch, ability to navigate Command Series.
- Various other computer programs will have training offered including but not limited to: Viewpoint, SharePoint, Teams, Safety Plus Web, Trakit/5Cubits, Stonemont, Apex, B2W Track, etc.
- Experience required in concrete batching, plant maintenance, inventory control, raw materials, delivery, personnel management, quality control, and ready-mix delivery driving experience
