The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems. They manage a team of electricians and ensure safety and plant compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks in a safety and professional manner in conformance with plant rules, quality standards and company polcies.
• Responsible for ensuring that all the plant electrical systems conform to applicable codes.
• Assists in coordinating the planning and scheduling of all electrical projects throughout the year and assists in the development of the yearly department budget, management, and follow-up once approved.
• Assist with capital projects where electrical support is required and shall coordinate with necessary departments.

• Record and analyze data, initiating appropriate work orders when warranted.
• Initiate the work directly performed by the execution group.
• Assisting the electrical department employees in completion of routine outage and emergency work.
• Responsible for optimizing and maintaining electrical components for the plant operation promotive proactive improvement.
• Responsible for optimizing and maintaining instruments, ensuring proper utilization and reliability.
• Maintain plant electrical standards.
• Promote new upgrades and features to assist plant performance.
• Assist in developing and maintaining plant reports.
• Assist in design, monitor and actively act upon preventative maintenance programs.
• Initiates, authorizes, and schedules routine contract work and is responsible for ensuring administrative functions for appropriate cost control are in place, such as providing the scope of work to the vendor and approving purchase order requisitions and maintaining a cost control spread sheet for budget control purposes.
• Perform follow-up inspections post repair and/or new installations of equipment.
• Assists in ensuring conformance with Automation, IT, and corporate guidelines.
• Provide technical expertise in specific areas of the cement plant, communicating effectively to various levels.
• Assists in ensuring the entering of new equipment numbers and ensures the updating of equipment parts catalog.
• Assists in the budgeting process, providing advice in planning and scheduling of major of more costly electrical activities.
• Utilize ‘Maximo’ to manage activities and the generate maintenance KPI’s which measure the effectiveness of the electrical roles. Publishes the maintenance KPI’s monthly, analyzes them and suggests ways to improve performance.
• Responsible for all housekeeping and organization of all electrical substations and maintenance shops.
• Ensure proactive electrical analysis is present at process, coordination, and reliability meetings.
• Remain active and knowledgeable in current safety regulations and guidelines, promoting overall plant safety. This includes implementing and managing the Summit Safety Program.

Skills & Experience

• 5 or more years' experience in industrial process systems or education equivalency
• Electrical aptitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing – English required.
• Must be able and willing to perform as a team member and within a team environment.
• Possess solid leadership skills.
• Be a motivated, self-starter, proactive and action oriented by character.
• Ability to meet on-call responsibilities associated with a 24/7 plant operation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings to include physical, background check, and drug screen.
• Preferred: Post secondary level education from a two-year college, technical school, or equivalent program
• Proven background in a similar role within a cement / production-oriented environment
