Overview
Location: Hannibal, MO
The prime objective of the Solid Waste Fuel Technician is to prepare and feed the best quality waste fuel material to the recycling process.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Recycle fifty-five gallon drums by emptying, scraping clean, smashing and loading into hopper.
• Operates mobile equipment as needed to move materials.
• Operates hand tools (shovels, brooms, squeegees, scrapers, etc.)
• Monitors equipment to ensure continuous operations; investigates failures and takes correct action.
• Strictly adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
• Responsible for inspecting mobile equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Performs minor repairs; consults with maintenance on equipment failures.
• Troubleshoots process problems associated with field operations and equipment.
• Responds to all incoming communications via phone, radio and other verbal inputs are taken care of appropriately.
Qualifications:
⦁ Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
⦁ Must be able to wear full face respirator (requires being cleanly shaven).
⦁ Computer literacy.
⦁ Experience operating mobile equipment.
⦁ Must be a team player.
⦁ Able to work overtime, all shifts, holidays and weekends.
⦁ Must be able to be on call and work a reasonable amount of overtime.
⦁ Proficient in the English language
⦁ Must display good employability skills (attendance, job performance, attitude, willingness to work, etc.)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and maintain balance while stooping, kneeling and crouching. The employee frequently is required to climb ladders. The employee is frequently required to communicate orally and in writing. The employee will frequently be required to walk on wet and/or gravel covered surfaces that may be in artificially lit conditions. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must continuously move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds. The employee will occasionally be required to exert up to 100 lbs. of force. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
