Overview
Location: Harleyville, SC
Compensation: $27.95/hour
This position supports a good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Take a personal interest in personal and team safety. Continuously look for ways to improve safety and assist others to the same. Must be dedicated to the safety of yourself and coworkers. Follow all company guidelines and safety standards. Attend safety meetings as scheduled.
- Utilize all safety equipment, personal or otherwise, required by the company and follow all company guidelines safety standards. Attend all safety meetings as scheduled.
- Inspect all operating equipment each shift, complete inspection sheet and report problems immediately to PCS.
- Correct any and all malfunctions or irregularities of operating equipment and safety hazards or report to coordinator if corrections cannot be made.
- Safe and proper operation of a front end loader, including reading and interpreting gauges, inspection, lubrication and cleaning each shift. Operate heavy machinery in tight areas without damage to equipment or material spills.
- Safe and proper operation of plant mobile equipment to include but not limited to front end loaders, skid steer loaders, manlifts, vacuum trucks, fuel trucks, water trucks, road sweeper and fork lifts.
- Maintain raw material flow in the hoppers and feeders, which at times requires manual labor to unplug blockages. Reporting any material flow problems that could adversely impact the manufacturing process.
- Regular communication with Production Control Supervisor is required to identify or anticipate issues, allowing quick mitigation or prevention of plant issues
- Do any cleanup that is necessary to have a better and safer working environment. Clean up around raw material hoppers, walkways, belt conveyors, transfer tower and stockpile areas as needed, conducting good housekeeping in work areas.
- This job requires shift work, callouts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend and holiday work. Employee may have work schedule adjusted on short notice. The rotation is 12 hour shifts with a turnover period.
- Participate in and complete Production Operator Certification program.
- Must be able to perform the duties of a Process Attendant (Operator II) as requested by PCS.
- Will be utilized in other capacities during times of Raw Mill downtime.
- Perform any and all tasks required by the PCS.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screen.
Experience/Skills Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability in current job, that the employee will be able to complete the Production Certification Training Program.
- Safety and attendance record.
- Experience operating skid steer loaders, front end loader and welding experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Communicate effectively with fellow workers and supervisors, ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Be able to demonstrate ability to complete quality work in a timely fashion, without rework
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- The person in this position may have work schedule adjusted on short notice and may be called on to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays.
