Overview
The Senior Safety Specialist is a role responsible for providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in the implementation and management of safety programs and initiatives. This position plays a critical role in promoting a culture of safety excellence, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on safety-related issues, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the investigation of complex or high-risk incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and contributing factors.
- Stay abreast of federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards applicable to the construction materials industry.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with department managers to integrate safety considerations into business processes and decision-making.
