The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to supervise Mechanical Maintenance employees and/or on-site contractors to ensure that the plant is maintained in good order and perform routine preventative maintenance along with repairs efficiently. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible to ensure that all work is completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner and in compliance with environmental requirements keeping budgetary considerations in mind.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The supervisory function can best be described as including all aspects of the supervision of people, in key issues such as productivity, safety, training, development, and employee relations, etc.
  • Actively support Plant Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Effectively manage the team of hourly maintenance associates including promoting a culture of accountability, performance, and taking disciplinary action when require
  • Assign jobs and tasks ensuring the availability of tools, parts, supplies, and equipment.  Define clearly the scope of work, tools, and materials to complete each job efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct field supervision to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of direct reports.'
  • Provide technical expertise as required to both mechanical and electrical resources.
  • In conjunction with the Operations Manager, establish and maintain a system for proper storage of pre-works and parts for pending work.
  • Remain up to date on new technologies and techniques as related to the mechanical work.]
  • Carry out the development and implementation of mechanical improvements and modifications as a result of corrective actions or as requested by other departments.
  • The incumbent is required to knowledgeable of   the process and  and production requirements.
  • Control the use and coordinate the work of outside mechanical contractors ensuring compliance with all Plant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure within group through , participation, recognition, and follow up on suggestions and ideas.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in the most effective, efficient and timely manner possible.
  • Give constructive feedback and coaching as required to maintain a high degree of professionalism within the group.
  • Use and understand the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) and have knowledge of the work order tracking system, spare parts catalog, requisitioning and inventory systems.
