Overview
The Ready-Mix Dispatcher plays a crucial role in coordinating the delivery of concrete to customer job sites in a timely and efficient manner. This position is responsible for managing daily delivery schedules, communicating with customers, coordinating with personnel and drivers, and ensuring optimal truck utilization while maintaining a high level of customer service. The Dispatcher must balance multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and work closely with operations to ensure product quality and delivery accuracy. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Receives from and delivers to the customer the order of products in a timely, accurate and courteous manner
- Coordinates daily workload with plant personnel
- Maintains good working relationship with the customer and supervises area personnel
- Understands, implements and maintains the correct mix design for jobs submitted
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation of records, reports and sales
Specific Duties:
- Serves as the "order taker" from customers for concrete and/or material orders
- Timely and correctly directs the delivery of concrete and/or materials to customers
- Ensures each job order has the correct raw material mix design according to the specifications submitted by the customer
- Encourages a positive working relationship with area personnel to ensure customers' jobs are serviced according to the specifications. Maintains appropriate discipline and compliance with all applicable MMC rules and policies. Participates in employee performance reviews
- Encourages a positive working relationship with customers to ensure their jobs are properly serviced, including the selling of products
- Directs customers in the product(s) needed to meet job specifications
- Communicates with the Dispatch Manager to schedule Mixer Operators for upcoming jobs
- Accurately records all orders, deliveries, and materials inventories for the area
- Efficiently schedules drivers, uses proper mix designs, and meets the demands of customers
- Communicates to the Area Manager or Dispatch Manager problems encountered with customers, area personnel, equipment, and any matters relating to the operation of the business
- Other duties or special projects as assigned by higher management
