Accurately and reliably tickets trucks, and professionally interacts with customers.   The scale operator/dispatcher is the first line of communication coming into the plant, and is an effective gate keeper.

Roles & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

• Keeps accurate records of scheduled loads, received loads and communication of possible trucking issues to correct individuals. 
• Cleans the scales: moving the hose and spraying out from under the scales to ensure accurate weighing. 
• Maintains a knowledge of the products on site and their location in order to direct the trucks and ensure the proper product is loaded. 
• Keeps customer service as a priority, insuring the operator knows the trucks are in the yard and keep them moving in an efficient manner.

• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities 
• Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines 
• Ability to operate telephone, photocopier, fax machines, and PC workstation. 
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. 
• Computer proficiency: Excel and Word 
• Problem analysis and problem resolution
