As a Driver Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of drivers, ensuring efficient scheduling, compliance with regulations, and maintaining a high level of customer service. Your role will involve coordinating driver activities, monitoring performance, and implementing strategies to enhance productivity and overall operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, a strong understanding of transportation regulations, and a proven ability to manage driver teams effectively.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage a team of drivers, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Develop and maintain driver schedules, considering route planning, delivery deadlines, and driver availability.
- Monitor driver performance, including on-time delivery, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement training and development programs to enhance driver skills and professionalism.
- Collaborate with the recruitment team to identify and hire qualified drivers, conducting interviews, and evaluating candidates' qualifications and fit for the role.
- Implement driver retention strategies, fostering a positive work environment, and addressing driver concerns or grievances.
- Collaborate with Quikrete Transportation Team to ensure driver compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, such as hours-of-service regulations and licensing requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of driver activities, including daily logs, mileage, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule vehicle repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance to ensure fleet availability and compliance.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize routing and delivery processes, ensuring timely and efficient service to customers.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to driver operations, ensuring compliance and recommending improvements to operational procedures.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting safe driving practices, conducting regular safety training, and implementing measures to mitigate risks.
Essential Functions
- Proven experience as a Driver Manager or similar role within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including hours-of-service rules, driver licensing requirements, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop driver teams.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build positive relationships.
- Proficient in using transportation management systems and related software.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to handle operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public always
- Valid driver's license and a suitable driving record (MVR).
