Plant Maintenance Laborer

Location: West Valley Hot Plant

Summary:

Kilgore, a Summit Materials LLC company, is seeking a skilled Asphalt Maintenance Laborer to join our team at the West Valley Hot Plant. This position involves performing a variety of tasks related to general plant maintenance. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently.

Roles & Responsibilities

Fabricate parts and components as needed for plant equipment and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and structural issues within the plant.
Perform general maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the plant.
Utilize a general knowledge of tools to carry out daily tasks effectively and safely.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members and supervisors.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Hot Plants and asphalt production equipment (not required, but a huge plus).
Experience operating loaders (not required, but a plus).
 

Required Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
Basic knowledge of operating heavy equipment.
General knowledge of tools and their proper use.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a plant environment with exposure to various physical and environmental conditions. The role may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
